Synopsis

UNFORGOTTEN is an original musical of survival and loss, of ageing and dignity, of memory and legacy. Based on the novel by noted psychiatrist Prof Kua Ee Heok, with book and lyrics by Jonathan Lim (Four Horse Road, Chestnuts, A $ingapore Carol) with music by Elaine Chan (Dim Sum Dollies, Monkey Goes West and Momotaro) and directed by Jeremiah Choy (Lim Boon Keng the Musical, Cathay Hotel - the Curse of the Missing Red Shoe, Day Break).

Set in the late 1980s Singapore, it follows a young doctor fresh back from the United Kingdom and his encounter with a motley sextet of senior citizens whiling away their years at the Kranji Home. When he realises that they each suffer Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) from surviving the Japanese Occupation, he grows determined to help them cope with the shadows of their past, while also preventing their precious legacy from being washed away on the tide of prosperity and progress.

UNFORGOTTEN invites audiences of every generation to step into the river of memory : we must remember, as we wish to be remembered.
